Mangaluru, Aug 10: The city has a new, top-end destination for gourmets. The eagerly awaited casual dining restaurant chain Barbeque Nation opened its 51st outlet at MAK Mall, Kankanady here on August 9.
The restaurant was inaugurated by Rajessh Bhat, associate producer of the blockbuster Bollywood movie 'Bajrangi Bhaijaan' starring superstar Salman Khan.
Addressing the gathering, Rajesh Bhat said, "I am delighted and honored to inaugurate this new outlet of Barbeque Nation here in Mangaluru. I wish many more outlets of Barbeque Nation come up in this city. Mangalureans are foodies and we would definitely support Barbeque Nation."
Vijay Bakshi, head chef, Barbeque Nation said, "We are pioneers of the concept of live on-the-table grill in India. Barbeque Nation showcases an array of vegetarian and non-vegetarian dishes, with starters like Paneer Zafrani Tikka, Mutton Makhan Seekh and Charmola Prawns and many more. You can see a flag on every table. Once you feel you are done with starters and want to go for the main course, you need to bend that flag. It gives the indication to the bearer that you are done with starters."
Rithin Mukergy, south regional head, Barbeque Nation said, "We have launched our 51st outlet here in Mangaluru and the response has been really good. We have kept in mind the local palate and accordingly designed the cuisine."

Buffet at Barbeque Nation showcases an array of vegetarian and non-vegetarian dishes. Starters include Chimichuri fish, Achari Jhinga, Korian chicken, Peshawari Tangdi, mutton masala seekh, Indian grilled vegetables, Satay Mashroom, Barbeque pinnapple, tandoori paneer tikka, Cajun spiced potatoes, Hare mutter ki tikki and much more. The main course has a number of mouth-watering dishes ranging from chicken dum biriyani, Goan prawn curry, chicken railway curry, fish in oyster sauce among non-vegetarian dishes, and paneer butter masala, corn palak, dal makhani, Singaporean noodles among vegetarian dishes. For desserts, the chefs serve up popular dishes like kesar phirnee, gulab jamun, assorted pastries, German cheese cake, a variety of ice creams and many more.
