Mangalore, Aug 6: Nihal Manjunath of Lourdes Central School has retained DCS Premier League Chess title for the second time with an unbeaten score of 5.5 points in 6 rounds. Adith Jagadish, also from Lourdes Central School had to settle down for second place with 5 ponits. Kaushik R of Canara College was placed third with 4.5 points.

In General League category, Abhijith Kamath of Sharada Vidyalaya bagged the honor by scoring unbeaten 5 points in 6 rounds. Akash H (Lourdes Central) and Shashank K R (Canara Main) were tied for 2nd place with 4.5 points each. But the better tiebreak points enabled Akash to the bag the second spot. Shashank was placed third. Kavitha from St Agnes College was awarded 'Best Girl Player'. Adithya Pai from St Theresa was awarded 'Best Under-10 Player'.
 
DCS will also organize various age group rapid and classical events during the months of August and September with an objective to provide the players with necessary exposure and tournament practice for the upcoming major events.
