YSR Congress MP slaps Air India official, booked

Hyderabad, Nov 27 (PTI): A criminal case has been registered against a YSR Congress MP from Andhra Pradesh for allegedly slapping a station manager of Air India (AI) at Tirupati airport.

Lok Sabha MP P Mithun Reddy went to the cabin of AI manager at the airport Rajasekhar on Thursday afternoon and picked up an "argument" with him regarding boarding passes for his relatives for a flight.

He later "shouted" at the manager before allegedly slapping him, Yerpedu police station sub-inspector Ramakrishnaiah said based on a complaint lodged by the victim.

Following the complaint, a case was registered on Thursday night against the MP along with his 15 other followers under sections 323 (voluntarily causing hurt), 353 (assault or criminal force to deter public servant from discharge of his duty) and 448 (house-trespass) of IPC, he said.

"We are investigating the matter," the SI told PTI over phone.

Some passengers, who were to board the flight, had also complained to the MP that the manager had allegedly misbehaved with them, after which Reddy went to Rajasekhar’s cabin.

Mithun Reddy represents Rajampet constituency in Kadapa district of the state.

Can not blame MP alone. Report says even passengers complained against him. Slapping action by MP is totaly wrong, but the AI officer is also arrogant and might be corrupt and harassing passengers. Need impartial investigation.

What a shame. As a politic Person behaves like a uneducated,no wonder why they are not able to lead a Nation. He should be treated as any other assaulter and punished, without treating as VIP.They think everywhere they can do and Show their Talent?Very soon they will come back on earth when next election takes place.why cant he pay his chamchas self?Afterall AI is at present not Standing at high Level.Slaping a adult Person doesnt belong to ones manners, and not all to a MLA.afterall Manager has his own Position and respect .

all the commentators I think did not read the article properly, Actually the AI Manager himself is a rude man he doesn't know how to talk with the passengers. The passengers complaint to the MP who was also travelling in the same flight, so that may be the reason, the MP got angry and used his power by slapping the AI Manager, which he shouldn't have done it. But just warned him instead. Any way everybody is waiting for an opportunity to abuse the political leaders, which they deserve normally. Rest God knows. But I feel for this MP whoever he is. But he will escape as he is a V.I.P.
