Quake hits Japan


Tokyo, Nov 28 (IANS): An earthquake measuring 5.5 on the Richter scale hit Hokkaido prefecture of Japan on Saturday, the country's meteorological agency said.

The temblor, having a depth of 80 km in the Pacific off the Nemuro peninsula, occurred at 11.51 a.m. No damage was reported and no tsunami warning was issued after the tremor, Xinhua cited the agency as saying.
