Chandigarh: U/19 girls’ football team win CBSE national championship

Chandigarh, Nov 28: Yet again, the U/19 girls’ football team made their school Ryan International School, Sanpada proud when they won the CBSE national championship at Chandigarh for the second consecutive year. The matches were played from November 19 to November 24 at St Soldiers School, Chandigarh. The U/19 girls’ team were a jubilant lot after the stupendous success and smashing victory. They stormed their way into the finals after winning all the pool matches. The girls played with Shantiniketan School, Haryana, Modern High School, Noida, Dream World School, Bellary, Vasant Valley School, Noida before playing the final match with PS Senior Secondary School, Chennai.



The winners were felicitated for their excellent performance by the school. Grace Pinto, MD, Ryan International Group, personally congratulated the girls and awarded the winners with floral bouquets, certificates and branded designer watches. The felicitation boosted their morale manifold. The joy and exhilaration at Ryan Sanpada was stupendous as the staff and students celebrated the victory of the team.

The best player of the tournament was Sejal Nakhwa and the best goalkeeper award was given to Vaishali Eache. Bhagyashree Dalvi became the highest scorer with 8 goals in the tournament. The coaches Sajid, Rajput and Saraswati undeniably had a mammoth hand in the victory.

“It is the vision of Dr A F Pinto, chairman, Ryan Group to see children excelling at district, state, national and international level in sports. We see it being fulfilled. Managing director Grace Pinto has always motivated the school and our children ensuring that we have an excellent environment to train our students. Our coaches are dedicated and this victory shows their dedication through meticulous and rigorous practice to come to the top. We thank our dear parents for their support in our endeavours,” expressed the school principal.

The squad consisted of Vaishnavi Eache (goalkeeper), Sakshi Raut, Jahnavi Shetty, Sayali Rajpure, Simran Sikhwal, Mansi Samre (captain), Kalyani K, Bhagyashree Dalvi, Tripti Sharma, Aarti Rawat, Sejal Nakhwa, Amruta Palvi, Dhirthi Shetty, Priyanka D, Mithali Patil and Ritika Sahani.
