Gender equality un-Islamic, says Muslim leader

Thiruvananthapuram, Nov 29 (DHNS): Sunni Muslim leader Kanthapuram A P Aboobacker Musaliyar on Saturday courted a controversy by saying the idea of gender equality is “against humanity” and in conflict with the tenets and spirit of Islam.

Musaliyar, general secretary of the Sunni Jamiyyathul Ulama, said this while speaking at a conference of the Sunni Students Federation in Kozhikode.

“Gender equality is a concept that is un-Islamic, lacks logic and is also against humanity,” the Sunni leader said.

Musaliyar is known for his controversial views favouring gender segregation.

Musaliyar also tried to drive home his point by referring to the women’s lack of “himmat” (courage) while taking up jobs that involve great responsibility.

“It’s the men who have the mental strength. Where are the female doctors in medical disciplines that involve major surgeries? They can only be paediatricians or practitioners of general medicine,” he said.

“This insistence on boys and girls sharing bench space in class is a sly assault on Islam,” he said. In October, authorities of Farook College, an autonomous institution run by a Muslim management, had suspended a first-year sociology student for sharing bench with girls. In a response to controversies over journalist V P Rajeena’s allegations on abuse of minors in madrassas, Musaliyar termed them as baseless.

Total misconception of the term gender equality! Gender equality does not mean females can do everything that males do or vice versa. It means giving equal opportunity to achieve what they want to achieve in life. Even among males alone no one is equal to the other. Every one has his own weaknesses and strengths. But when opportunity is given to showcase one's strength he will be achieve something in life. It is all about providing equal platform or opportunity to succeed.

Why the news title is not as "GENDER EQUALITY AGAINST HUMANITY". Why the word "UN ISLAMIC" was used to create a heading? Moulana used both words, but Media is more interested to use word which is related to Islam so that it can defame Islam more and more.

Remember one thing. Islamic principles cannot be changed and will never be changed. It will remain intact till this world meets it's end as it's protected by God Himself and it has revealed to whole mankind not just to Muslims alone. If not this generation, the future generation will show respect towards it for sure. Nothing is gonna last permanent. This era of defaming Islam from all corners and from all sources is at its full fledge. Such tactics will not last longer and forever. If one generation is wiped out then arise another generation with different thought.

Finally on Moulana's comment. Yes, Men and Women cannot be equal individually but they can be said equal overall. Certain things suits man by its nature which cannot go well with women and certain things which go well with women cannot go well with man.

Eg:- If a thief get into our house, being a man we cannot ask female's of our house to catch the thief as God has created male more powerful in strength then female. Likewise a women has more affection towards her kids than man, and she takes care of her child in more meaningful way. This is the default quality of women which can't be compared with man.

One more simple logic to realize the truth. Both man & women has been blessed with breast (although of different shape and size) but still only women produces milk and not man irrespective of both having same blood running in their body. Why?
So it's very clear that men and women can't be equal individually but over all they can be categorized equal.
This is what our elders used to say "Jo kaam mardo ka hai usko mardo ko hi karne do auraton ko nai"

May Allah provide all of us the true guidance to walk into the straight path & not go astray.

If not why women gets only half share in property ? Why two women witness is considered equal to be one man ? Why only women have to cover faces why not men ? Why they are not allowed to participate in mass prayers ? Why they are not allowed to drive in Saudi ? Whey they are not allowed to vote in Saudi ? Why Why why ?

It is true, there should not be any gender equality and for a fact that GOD or ALLAH has created male & female like this with huge difference between the male & female. We simply cannot make both male & female equal and we all know that this is not possible irrespective of thinking about seating together, eating together and doing few things similar…!

Once Dr. Zakir Naik had said in his lecture, those people who talk about gender equality…, why don’t they have all the competitions in various sports be conducted together for male & female! Why are we having separate competitions for male & female and why people don’t talk about gender equality there?

For example let a boxing match be held against each other? Sometime back the famous sisters of tennis in USA had opened a debate saying that male & female should be rewarded equally in Tennis and they challenged to compete against men. Eventually there was a match played against the famous sisters & Men tennis players in a double match and the famous sisters had no chance and lost very badly! It was not a contest at all.

Please, don’t give this article a communal face. It has got nothing to do with Islam or this Musaliyar. What he spoke about is a truth and fact which we cannot deny.

India First…, you have all the rights to practice whatever you think is right for you. And as far as I am concerned, I follow Islam, I believe in Quraan and the teachings of Prophet Muhammed (PBUH). And as I understand, there is NO gender equality and whatever is going on currently in this world in the name of gender equality is NOT at all permitted or allowed as per the Islamic teachings. So let me practice what is right for me and let me have my opinion on that as you.

By the way, why do you hide your identity and what is your gender?

If these countries provide Visas then surely he will travel.

Moreover Ravi Shankar went there to teach Yoga, which was said to them as a daily exercise to remain fit but if it was said to them that Yoga is not for exercise but for preaching Hinduism then these countries which you have named would have not issued him visa too as these countries are not aware of any ABC of Hinduism and Yoga is a part of Hinduism culture. They sense Yoga as just an exercise method.
