At 15 : Moment of fulfilment for us - Thank you for generating Rs 10 cr for needy

Walter Nandalike
Editor-in-chief
Daijiworld.com

Mangaluru, Jan 14 : Today, as we complete 15 glorious years ever since going online this day back in 2001, there is a huge sense of fulfilment, not because of the name, fame or daily bread we have earned, but in reaching out to the needy and extending a helping hand when they had no one else to turn to. The credit for this moment of satisfaction goes to none other than our dear readers who have made us proud by reaching out to the needy directly, quietly and sometimes anonymously. Rs 10 crore is just a figure in our records, but it is much more than that - your contribution, time, moral support, words of consolation and prayers are truly invaluable.

Dear readers, we know Daijiworld.com news portal has been a part of your life, and we strive to give our best. This journey has been phenomenal but challenging and quite demanding too. It is our dynamic and enterprising teams from India and abroad, who, with their dedication, hard work and commitment, have made it possible for us to remain the undisputed leader in online media from this part of Karnataka for the past 15 years, and who we know, will keep the momentum going for many more years to come.

And while we cherish this moment of fulfilment, we also express our deep gratitude to each and every one who stood alongside us throughout our journey. Our advertisers have kept us alive with their unconditional support, our reporting teams, editorial, administrative, technical and marketing teams, advertising agencies and contributors have been our breath. Our readers have been our absolute soul, without whom we could not have reached this milestone today.

Our directors, investors, mentors, guides and well-wishers have kept us motivated throughout our journey. We do not want to mention names, for there are so many, but each and every one of you is in our hearts and minds, and we are simply indebted to you. We bow our heads in all humility for your rock-solid support to daijiworld.com.

Through our indepth reports and exclusive stories that have reached far and wide, we have been to create awareness in society, shake up the system and make a lasting impact. Several of our reports have created a sensation, and eventually forced authorities to take action. It would not be an exaggeration to say that the impact we have created in society, and the trends we have set in online media, have given us one more reason to experience a sense of fulfilment.

Our journey will not stop here, we will strive harder and aim higher. So far along the way, we have been able to establish different media entities - Daijiworld Weekly, the only English weekly published from Karnataka which is now in its 7th year of success, Daijiworld 24x7 TV channel, which, in just two years has been able to create waves in the electronic media and become a household name in the coastal cities of Karnataka in the shortest possible time, and our recently launched state-of-the-art Daijiworld Audio-Visual Studio, the only one-of-its-kind in the region that has been recommended and appreciated by leading names in the music industry for its flawless output and high-end technology.

This year we plan to expand even further, making optimum use of technology. We will disclose our new ventures in the near future. We promise you that every venture of ours will be people-friendly, motivational for younger generation and impact-oriented.

This year we have been able to achieve 21% growth in readership worldwide, thanks to our fast-growing social media networks. With over 1 lac Facebook followers, about 50,000 mobile app downloads, and followers in several other social media platforms, we are every day reaching new readers.

We take pride in proclaiming that we are striding ahead in the right direction with a mission and goal. To celebrate our success and show our gratitude to our supporters, we will organize the 15th anniversary event of daijiworld.com on February 5 in Mangaluru. The grand finale of 'Hyssna Miss Daijiworld 2015' will be part of our celebrations. Dignitaries and well-wishers from all over the world are expected to attend the gala event.

Thank you readers for being with us all these years. Like you did in the past, pat our backs when we do good, warn us if we go wrong, correct us when we are not right, but support us at all times.

Nobody has ever been as successful as Walty in this field in our society. He has single-handedly started off with a tiny project but now has built a huge enterprise which is in right path. I must say he is a born leader. As he is an excellent orator he must try his hand in honest politics to do his bit to cleanse it.

At a time when we are surrounded by fake news mediums like facebook news, whatsApp news and communally charged news papers of DK, Daijiworld provides a reliable and trustworthy medium for local as well as international news. I read news from different sources, both Indian and International and I am often amazed at the authenticity and accuracy of Daijiworld reports.

I would urge people to make Daijiworld as their prime source of news, specially for the people of DK during communal violence as DW is the ONLY medium which provides communally unbiased and reliable news during such times. Also I would encourage people to stop relying on whatsApp and facebook news as they are completely fake.

    Dear Daiji,

The news covered by you is par excellence. However there are some news which leave us depressed like crimes suicide of farmers etc. as a media Daiji has to cover all types of news. Just like Pls Help Column I suggest there should be some community based column where people especially those who are retired and have vast knowledge can contribute to social problems like addressing farmer suicides and how it can be eliminated and also like providing basic needs to all mangloreans, so that alongwith Daiji even Mangalore rocks and will be best city not only in India but all over the World. I know it is difficult but there can be start.

The Times of India has an annual revenue of $1.5 Billion, but i am 100 % sure, if they have ever helping a needy directly or indirectly.
Daijiworld's achievement in crowdfunding Rs.10 Cr for needy deserves an award from the government of India.

This creates a sense of joy to each and everyone to know that thru the help of dynamic leaders such as you many noteworthy milestones can be accomplished in the society that we live.

It may be a nice idea to create a nice marble slab in your Complex at Bondel and inscribe in bold golden letters some of the major achievements towards the needy. Let these kind gestures be made known to the public so that many more may come forward and extend their hand of help.
