Udupi, Jan 30: Spiritual guru and founder of Art of Living Foundation Sri Sri Ravi Shankar on Saturday, January 30 q4visited Shree Krishna Math and met Sri Vishweshateertha Swamiji of Pejawar Math, who recently ascended the Paryaya Peetha.
Sri Sri Ravishankar made a 'dardhan' of Sri Krishna deity through the historic Kanaka Navagraha window along with Pejawar Swamiji on the occasion.
In a simple ceremony held later, Pejawar Swamiji felicitated Sri Sri Ravi Shankar on being conferred the Padma Vibhushan award. Sri Sri Ravi Shankar also draped Pejawar Swamiji with a shawl and honoured him.
Sri Sri Ravi Shankar speaking on the occasion said that Pejawar Swamiji had laid the foundation for the Art of Living university chair when it was started in Bengaluru. "It has grown into a gigantic tree. The involvement of Pejawar Swamiji in any venture always brings success," he said.
He also invited Pejawar Swamiji for the World Cultural Festival scheduled to be held in New Delhi from March 11 to 13.
Pejawar Swamiji said that he was happy that Sri Sri Ravi Shankar had visited the Math. "I am proud that his organization has grown and spread throughout the world.
"Ravi Shankar has been instrumental in spreading yoga to the world. We need both science and spirituality. We need spirituality to put a break on science if it crosses limits," he said.
