Mangaluru, Jan 31: It is divine power that bonds relationships, and any work that promotes and preserves the bond between people is commendable, said spiritual guru Sri Sri Ravi Shankar, founder of Art of Living Foundation.
He was speaking at a programme held on the fifth day of Nagamandalotsava at Shree Nagabrahma Annapoorneshwari Kshetra in Kolya near here on Sunday January 31.
"There is an essence of the Serpent God in all the Gods and Goddesses. Not just Hindus, but even Jains and Buddhists worship the Serpent God. Without faith and devotion there is no meaning to life. The Nagamandalotsava at Kolya Temple is doing the work preserving worship of Serpent God," he said.
Sri Vidyaprasannateertha Swamiji of Shree Kshetra Subramanya Samputa Narasimha Swamiji Math said, "When you understand the benefits of Nagamandala, you will gain sweet fruits from it. A serpent is a unique creation that crawls without limbs and has a hood. Those who suffer from problems related to health and wealth turn to the Serpent God. Hence, there are people who seek the Serpent God's blessings irrespective of caste and creed."
District in-charge minister Ramanath Rai who was the chief guest said, "Faith is something that guides us in the right path. Everyone should strive to build a beautiful society and win the world through love. In this direction, people should promote values that spread love among all."
Businessman Suresh Shetty Gurme presided over the programme. Vedamurthy Sagri Gopalkrishna Samaga of Udupi Vasuki Subramanya Temple conducted the puja rituals.
Trustee of Shree Nagabrahma Annapoorneshwari Kshetra Bhaskar Aithal and his wife and Nagamandalotsava Samiti president Kadambodi Mahabala Poojary were honoured on the occasion.
Satyajit Suratkal welcomed the gathering while Purshotham Bhandary compered and Mahesh Murthy thanked the gathering. Shree Nagabrahma Seva Samiti president Sushant Bhandary delivered the keynote address.
