Ballari: Transfer order withdrawn, Anupama reinstated as Kudligi DySP

Daijiworld Media Network - Ballari

Ballari, Feb 1: In what may be termed as a victory to people power, DySP of Kudligi Anupama Shenoy, who was transferred allegedly at the behest of minister Parameshwara Naik, has been reinstated in the same post.

Anupama had been transferred allegedly by minister Naik as she had disconnected his call after waiting for him to come on the phone for over 40 seconds, so as to answer her superior who had called at the same time. This had angered the minister who called her back and took her to task for 'disrespecting' him.

Though the minister denied the incident, he later boasted about his role in getting Anupama transferred in a meeting with his supporters. The video of the minister claiming responsibility for the transfer went viral, and in no time, the issue attracted nationwide attention. People in Ballari and elsewhere descended on the streets demanding reinstatement of Anupama. The opposition BJP also made the most of it and demanded Parameshwara Naik's immediate ouster.

Anupama was then reportedly 'sent on forced leave' for 15 days, and an order was issued that she was would be posted in Indi of Vijayapura district soon. DGP Om Prakash had dismissed reports of her 'forced' leave and said that she would be taking up her new post at Indi soon, but refused to comment on why she had been transferred abruptly.

Chief Minister Siddaramaiah had defended the abrupt transfer calling it an "administrative matter".

Home minister and state Congress Chief G Parameshwara had also said the DySP has not been transferred and she has been sent on OOD (on official duty), calling it 'natural' in an administrative set up.

The claim by minister Naik, the district minister in charge, to party workers in Hadagali assembly constituency, had come as an embarrassment to the Congress-led state government as the video surfaced, just a few days after the minister rejected any role in the transfer as "far from the truth."

On February 1, bowing to pressure from people as well as media, the police department issued an order stating that Anupama's transfer to Indi has been withdrawn with immediate effect and she would now be reinstated to her former post as DySP of Kudligi. The order has been signed by director general and inspector general of Karnataka police.

The order stated that Anupama would continue to discharge her duties in Kudligi sub-division in Ballari district, the same position she held prior to her transfer, and asked the official concerned to submit a report about her reporting to the duty.

Earlier in the day, a group of women activists, rallying behind Anupama, sought the intervention of President Pranab Mukherjee, Prime Minister Narendra Modi, National Women Commission chairperson Lalitha Kumaramangalam, Congress President Sonia Gandhi and party vice-president Rahul Gandhi in the issue.

The govt does not have the spine to take a call on unwarranted situations. It waits to be reprimanded by the high command which is trying hard to make inroads in many states which is very difficult with politicians favouring the goons over honest officers.Things are changing for the better.

Anupama shenoy a BJP supporter? one must know their facts before they write on a public platform. DySP of Kudligi Anupama Shenoy, is a student of St Aloysius collage mangalore, and studied Kannada under Fr Prashanth Madtha. I am sure she has imbibed the morals and principles that are required to lead a righteous life. while we are on the subject, Mr Pramod kumar, the recently transferred Inspector of Kankanady rural police station, was also a student of St Aloysius, and he too was a student of Fr prashanth Madtha. I am sure both the officers are they are happy to serve where they are asked to, but being transferred and shunted as per the whim, fancies false egos of some rotten politicians is sure to cause hurt to anybody. Both of them were in the N.C.C. I am sure they have a certain amount of self respect. Nobody need to teach these two officers what is right and what is wrong. There are many students of St Aloysius who are in the armed forces, and the police force. St Aloysius have students that come from all three religions. I don't think that collage has divided students on the basis of religion and political parties.

The Home Minister and the Police Chief lied to the public about the reason for sudden transfer of DySP. Lying to the public is as good as lying to the judiciary. It is equivalent to perjury and appropriate action should be taken against the both.

Hope politicians realise, at least now, that they servants of the public who voted for them.

They were voted to power to work for the welfare of the people and to support good governance and support the good actions of sincere, honest, just actions of Govt. officials.

'Govt. of the people, for the people, by the people', 'Maximum governance, minimum Government' and 'Corruption Free India', should not simply remain as slogans!

People Power. Thanks to daiji for covering the news and taking opinion of people. This is a big slap also to communal parties unlike them the seculars always back the right like in this case though right wing always blames seculars to be congi supporters the joint efforts of all seculars have shown otherwise. It always better to be secular and support right then to be communal and support even when things are wrong.

SIDDU YOU ARE REALLY A BUDDHU. Dont support your idiot Minister. Also dont give comments that irritate us. As per the High Command order sack him immediately. Why you are supporting scoundrels by saying that the lady officer has been transferred under general transfer. Dont act like Mohammed bin tugluq. The Minister has openly told and boasted that he has transferred the Lady Police Officer. It has become a fashion to your Govt. to transfer IAS, IFS Officers on petty issues. Why cant you take action against the Minister who is acting like Saddam Hussain. Dont try to protect such kind of rogue Ministers as this would adversely affect your Administration and Govt.
