Modi pays tribute to former prime minister Morarji Desai


New Delhi, Feb 29 (IANS): Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Monday paid tributes to former prime minister Morarji Desai on his 120th birth anniversary and described him as a "stalwart".

"Morarjibhai Desai was a stalwart known for his integrity, discipline and administrative skills. Tributes to him on his birth anniversary," Modi tweeted. 

Desai, the fourth prime minister of India, participated actively in the country's freedom movement.

He died at the age of 99 on April 10, 1995.
