Dubai: BCF Iftar Party Generates Scholarship Funds for Poor Students

Dubai, Sep 22: The Iftar Party 2007 was conducted on 21st September, 2007 at the Sudanese Social Club Hall in Dubai.  Snack items, fruits, juice and Biryani was offered during the Iftar.  There were around 800 people who attended this Iftar Party. After the Maghrib Prayers, all the people proceeded to the Auditorium to attend Scholarship contribution function.

The function started with quran recitation.  Dr. Kaup the General Secretary of BCF welcomed all the guests on the stage.  The guest of honors included the following:

Dr. B.K. Yusuf initially addressed the gathering and conveyed his best Ramadan wishes to the audience and also informed all the people to contribute wholeheartedly for the education of the poor masses of bearys.  All the members supported and contributed wholeheartedly for educating muslim brothers and sisters.  Hassan Darwish, the Managing Director of Mega Star conveyed his best wishes to do good deeds in the holy month of Ramadan.


All the guests of honors were felicitated.  The Hon. General Secretary Dr. Kaup Mohamed, presented the scholarship details to the audience.  Dr. Yusuf, the President stated, we expect more contributors, for providing scholarships to the needy and poor male and female Bearys based in Dakshina Karnataka. Amongst all the members, one of the delegate (name withheld) donated Dhs. 100,000/- towards the education of the bearys in the Karnataka State.   Zafarullah Khan contributed around Rs. 4 to 5 lakhs towards the education of the bearys. The committee placed on record the contribution of all the delegates,  Zafarullah Khan and all the members and the committee stated that this will always be admired and remembered and may the almighty “Allah” shower his gracious blessings to all of them at all times.  It was happy to note that BCF could generate a contribution of around Rs. 24,00,000/- It Took Only 30 Minutes To Generate The Amount for the purpose of supporting the beary students for education. Around more than 665 students will be given scholarship by the Bearys Cultural Forum.

 M.E. Moolur spoke about the objectives of the Bearys Cultural Forum and Bearys Relief Board.  Finally, the vote of thanks was given by  M.E. Moolur.  He thanked the Tawakul Overseas for providing meal related services,  Sameer K.S. for volunteers, Sudanese Club for premises and all the guest and the audience for attending this party.

The event was sponsored by Mr. Ibrahim Janahee, Dr. B.K. Yusuf, Mr. Haneef Bajpe (Superjet tours), Aboo Salih (Eagle Properties),  M.E. Moolur,  K.S. Sameer,,  Shabbir Hussain (from Tiffany),  Habib etc.  A lot of managing committee members supported financially for conducting the BCF’s Iftar Party besides the scholarship contribution. The volunteering services was provided by Tawakul Overseas, K.S. Sameer’s group,  M.E. Moolur’s Volunteers, Latif Mulky’s volunteers and Ibrahim Mulky’s volunteers.

The BCF Scholarship function is tentatively scheduled in Mangalore during December, 2007.

    Good work from our Beary brothers for the noble cause there no other mantra to empower the less fortunate people than giving education. I hope the other cultural associations in the gulf will follow this example set by BCF. I wish them all Ramdhan Kareem.
