Mangaluru, Mar 29: Journalist Chandrahasa Charmadi has bagged the 2015 Pa Go Award for rural reporting. The award has been instituted in memory of P Gopalakrishna by Pa Go Memorial Trust, and is presented annually by the Dakshina Kannada Working Journalists' Union.
Chandrahasa Charmadi is the sub-editor of 'Nirantara Pragati' periodical.
Charmadi has won the Pa Go award for his report published in ‘Prajavani’ newspaper on September 15, 2015 titled 'Deha Nadalli, Manussu Kadalli...' meaning 'Physically in City, Mentally in Forest...'
Srinivasa Nayak Indaje, general secretary of Dakshina Kannada Working Journalists' Union has said that the award carries a cash prize of Rs 10,001, a memento and a certificate.
Charmadi has written hundreds of articles in major newspapers and periodicals in the state. He is also a professional photographer and travels around the state for his articles. He has won several prizes for his articles and poems since his college days. He is a postgraduate in journalism as well as in Kannada.
