Mangaluru, Mar 31: The police have issued lookout notice for two persons in connection to the murder of RTI activists Vinayak Baliga and sought public help in nabbing them.
The suspects are Shiva (29), a resident of Panjimogaru and Srikanth (40), a resident of Kavoor.
Vinayak Baliga was waylaid and hacked to death on March 21 morning near his house at PVS Kala Kunj Road, Kodialbail when he was on the way to Lord Venkataramana Temple.
The police on March 27 arrested Nishith Devadiga and Vinith Poojary who, according to the police, were contract killers hired to kill Vinayak. During further investigations, the police learnt about the involvement of Shiva and Srikanth. However, their whereabouts are unknown.
The police have urged the public to help them in arresting the duo. Anyone with reliable information about Shiva or Srikanth or both is requested to contact the assistant commissioner of police immediately on 9480805320 through call, SMS or WhatsApp, or email to sdpocitymgc@ksp.gov.in. The informer's identity would be kept confidential and he/she would be suitably rewarded, state a press note from the police.
