Mangaluru, Mar 31: Stepping up investigation into the murder of RTI activist Vinayak Baliga who was hacked to death near his house at PVS Kala Kunj Road, Kodialbail, the police on Thursday March 31 evening raided the house of Yuva Brigade leader Naresh Shenoy.
The raid was led by ACP Tilakchandra along with personnel from Barke police station.
The police had reportedly visited Shenoy's house a few days back, but he was not at home. Thereafter, it was said that he had gone 'absconding'. Sources said that he has missing since the day of the murder.
On Thursday evening, the police raided Shenoy's house at VT Road in order to take him for enquiry in the case. However he was not to be found.
Speaking to daijiworld, ACP Tilakchandra said that the raid was conducted 'as part of the investigation' but refused to divulge more details.
Vinayak Baliga was murdered on the morning of March 21 near his house when he was on the way to Shree Venkataramana Temple. Two contract killers have been arrested in the case and investigations are on to hunt those who hired them. The police have issued lookout notice for two more suspects in the case.
