Mangaluru, Apr 4: India’s largest radio network, 93.5 Red FM, has announced the second edition of 'Red FM Tulu Film Awards', to be presented on April 9 in a gala ceremony at Karavali Utsav grounds.
The first Red FM Tulu Film Awards, hosted on November 22, 2014 was a massive success that saw a crowd of over 15,000. Now, with the same objective recognizing and honouring the biggest achievers in the Tulu film industry, the Red FM Tulu Film Awards is back, this time even bigger and better.
The event is going to be a one-of-a-kind in the entire coastal Karnataka region, with the presence of top film celebrities from Mangaluru who have made their mark in Bollywood and Sandalwood.
The awards will be conferred in 22 different categories including one Lifetime Achievement Award. Tulu movies released between June 2014 to December 2015 will be taken into consideration for the awards. A panel of experts will judge the nominations and select the best in each category.
The voting is also open to public in popular categories for best film, best actor, best actress, best actor in a negative role, best comic performance, best music director and best male and female singers.
Other than awards presentation, the event will feature live power-packed performances by Tulu film celebrities. Teams from Mangaluru who have made a mark on national television will also perform on stage. Bollywood celebrities like Suniel Shetty, Rohit Shetty, Sohail Khan and many others will be present during the occasion.
Red FM has made an indelible mark in the minds and hearts of the people of Mangaluru over the past 8 years with a series of social and cultural initiatives. It is the first ever private FM radio station to have played Tulu songs on-air and the station continues to pay its respect to the stars and achievers of the coastal region by hosting an exclusive Tulu show named 'Kudla Express'. Tulu Film Awards is yet another intiative of Red FM to honour the vibrant film industry of the coastal region.
