Puttur, Apr 11: The body of Taniappa Koraga (28), a resident of Panjigudde in Padnoor village near Kabaka in the taluk, was found hanging from a rope inside his home on Sunday April 10. His close ones however, insist that he would not have committed suicide, duly expressing suspicion about circumstances leading to his death.

Taniappa was unmarried. His parents, elder sister, and younger brother, who lived with him, had left for the house of a relative at Purusharakatte a month back. Taniappa therefore was alone at his home since about a month.

Taniappa had taken up construction of his own house a little distance from his home. It is said that he tried to commit suicide initially in his under-construction house, but failed. He then returned to his old house, where he hanged himself, it is claimed. He normally went to his house under construction for spending the night.

Locals expressed suspicion about his death, as his feet were seen touching the floor. Therefore, his body was shifted to the forensic science laboratory attached to a private hospital at Deralakatte. Doubts will be cleared once postmortem report is received.
