Mangaluru, May 9: Federation of Indian Rationalists’ Associations’ president Prof Narendra Nayak, who has been campaigning for the arrest of murder suspects of RTI activist Vinayaka Panduranga Baliga, has reportedly received life threats. Police have received complaint in this regard.
It is alleged that Kashi Math follower Shashank Shenoy has threatened Narendra Nayak through Facebook messenger. The message in Kannada states “Why do you intend to put your dirty hand in the mouth of a tiger? You cannot even imagine what will happen tomorrow. You can comprehend this way you like.”
During the rally
Prof Narendra Nayak has complained to Urwa Circle inspector Ravish Nayak about the threat. “I always had threat to my life. Now Shashank Shenoy posing as the follower of Kashi Math has threatened me of life”, said Nayak.
Namo Brigade founder Naresh Shenoy is a prime suspect in the murder of Baliga which took place on March 21. In this connection a rally was taken up from Kalakunj where Baliga was murdered, to the office of the police commissioner by Deshapremi Sanghatanegala Okkoota recently urging for arrest of all the murder suspects of Baliga. Prof Narendra Nayak had addressed the protesters on that day.
