Mangaluru, May 10: A person, who stole a motor bike that was parked inside the court complex here was caught by policemen from Urwa police station in the city. The thief has been identified as Raghavendra Bhat (28), son of Sadashiva Bhat, resident of Devikripa House, Konchady here.
The police inspector and other policemen of Urwa station were checking vehicles passing by the road at Kuntikana on Monday May 9 when they found that Raghavendra, who was riding a Bajaj Pulsar motor bike, did not possess any documents relating to ownership of vehicle, nor could give convincing answers to their questions. During his questioning, he confessed that he had stolen the above motor bike from the court complex compound about three weeks back.
The policemen said that the motor bike belonging to an advocate, Raviraj, had gone missing from the court complex. Missing case had been registered in the city north police station. They have also found that Bhat had stolen inverter, battery, and computer from the office of Redrocks real estate office near Bajpe four months back. The total value of the goods and vehicle confiscated from the accused has been estimated at Rs 1,00,000.
On being produced in the court, the accused was remanded to judicial custody.
