Mangaluru, May 15: Ursuline Franciscan Congregation in its 13th general chapter held from May 1 to 17, elected Sr Susheela Seqeira as the superior general of the congregation and Srs Milly Fernandes, Lilly Pinto, Juliana Pinto and Lydia Serrao as councillors general.
Sr Susheela Sequeira hails from Sacred Heart Parish, Madanthyar, Mangaluru Diocese. She was the assistant superior general and earlier was the provincial superior of Mangaluru Province.
Sr Milly Fernandes has been elected as the assistant superior general. She was the provincial superior, of North East Province, Nagaland. She served as missionary for more than 25 years. She is from St Joseph the Worker Parish, Vamanjoor.
Sr Lilly Pinto has served as the provincial councillor of Mangaluru Province. She has rich experience in pastoral and educational field. She is from St Francis Xavier Church, Bejai.
Sr Juliana Pinto has vast experience in the field of formation and administration. She was the provincial councillor of Mysuru Province. She is from St John Marie Vianny Parish, Bambil, Bantwal.
Sr Lydia Serrao was actively involved in the various missions in Mangalore Diocese. She renders her service in the Diocesan Ecclesiastical Tribunal as defender of Bond. She is from St Paul Parish, Bolkunje.
The Chapter focused on the theme 'UFS - Taking a Stand, Making a Difference with the Heart and Mind of Jesus' to launch deeper into the different areas of the mission of the Church.
