Bengaluru, May 21: After fight broke out between two groups of youngsters over a girl, a person was killed, while three others suffered serious wounds. Two among the injured are in coma.
The fight took place at Kolur near Ramohalli in the outskirts of the city on the night of Thursday May 19.
Dhanush (19), residing at Janata Colony near the grand banyan tree was killed in this incident. Bharat (21) and Sharan (19) continue to be unconscious. Both are being treated in the intensive care unit of NIMHANS here. Another youth, Puneet (23), survived with minor injuries, police said.
It is said that a 20-member gang headed by Rowdy Huchchagala rushed into the house of Kiran Kumar at Kolur and attacked those inside. Kiran Kumar's friends, Dhanush, Bharat, Sharan and Puneet, who resisted the attack, had to bear the brunt of savagely attack, the police personnel stated.
Reportedly, Kiran Kumar and Rowdy Huchchagala's nephew, Mohan Kumar, were studying in a PU college at Kengeri two years back. Both loved the same girl, and fought over this matter frequently. Mohan had sought help of his uncle, Huchchagala, to take revenge. After coming to know about this, Kiran had asked his friends, Bharat, Puneet, Sharan and Dhanush to protect him.
When Huchchagala came with 20 people in four cars and broke the door of Kiran Kumar's house and attacked those inside with sickles and swords. Kiran's friends retaliated. Kiran, who was speaking over the mobile on the first floor, jumped down and escaped when his enemies entered his house. His four associates were lying in a pool of blood. Policen rushed to the spot and took the injured to hospital. Dhanush had died on the spot. A case stands registered against Huchchagala, Mohan Kumar and associates at Tavarekere police station.
Kiran's parents, Gangaraju and Gangamma, who hid in a room of the house, saved themselves.
The house of Kiran Kumar was splattered with blood. Broken furniture, lethal arms, pulverized television set and windows, etc bore testimony for the seriousness of the attack. Police say they are confident of arresting the culprits soon.
