Poperty dispute : Kerala Techie kills NRE father, dumps body parts separately

Chengannur (Kerala), May 30 (PTI): In a gruesome incident of patricide over property dispute, a 36-year-old IT professional has allegedly shot dead his NRI father, cut his body into pieces and dumped them at various locations here.

Police said Sherin John, working with a company in IT hub Technopark, was arrested after he confessed that he had killed his father Joy V John (68) last week. John was living in US for the last three decades and visited his ancestral home near here when he was murdered, police said, adding property dispute led to the crime.

Based on Sherin's statement, police carried out a search in various places and recovered a portion of limb, head and some other body parts, believed to be that of Joy. "The recovered body parts will be sent for DNA testing and other scientific analysis.

"As per our preliminary investigation, property dispute between the father and son had led to the murder," Alappuzha District police chief B Asok Kumar told PTI.

Joy had gone missing since last Wednesday after he had gone out with Sherin to repair an air conditioner. As her husband and son did not return, Joy's wife Mariamma lodged a missing complaint with the police. During interrogation, Sherin confessed to committing the crime, police said, adding he had been booked for IPC offences including murder and destruction of evidences.

Your comments are proof that north indian fellows like yourself are easily fooled by the politicians that you guys worship.

Here is an article which explains why crime rate is high in Kerala and so low in UP..hahaha

Within India, Kerala, considered to be a better policed state has one of the highest crime rates, while UP, whose poor law and order issues often hit headlines, has one of the lowest. Why is it so? The answer lies in the response of government and civil society to crime data and how sense of law and order in India is measured solely through registered crimes. As soon as crime graph of a particular region, as reflected in data, rises, the minister responsible reprimands the concerned officer. The officer, in turn, tries his best to keep the numbers to the lowest. One of the ways this is allegedly done is by refusing FIRs. Former Director General of Police (DGP) of UP and police reforms crusader Prakash Singh narrates an interesting anecdote. “When I was a young Superintendent of Police (SP) in UP, the then principal secretary (home) BJ Khodaiji, on instructions from the government, issued an order. It said that crime should be brought down by 50 per cent. Since it was not possible, officers resorted to burking i.e. non-registration of FIR. Later when Mayawati came to power, she asked for crime to be reduced by 70 per cent. At least half a dozen officers were suspended as they could not score more than a 30 per cent ,” says Singh. - See more at: http://indianexpress.com/article/india/india-news-india/why-india-has-a-low-crime-rate/#sthash.OOxylLNj.dpuf

Most saddening news! Killing his own father who gave life and nursed him.
How contrast? Few days back, we saw serving Bishop donning own kidney to save another life.
Both from same state, same community but so different.
One ready to lay his life, and another has already taken life.
Like all the Apostles ready to give their life for the cause of Jesus Christ, Judas Iscariot plotted to take Jesus life for the sake of money!

One of the most shocking news. Sherin John had family friction, especially with his father for a very long time and his father used to threaten him that he will not give anything to Sherin. Sherin was caught up in the drug culture and other bad company, broken marriage shortly after the marriage in 2010.

According to the statement he has given, this butchering of his father was a well-planned murder.

Everybody knows kerala is in number one position in crime rate. So it's not a big thing. Something we comes to know and some or what. More importantly people from literate state are involving in such acts and moreover person staying from long abroad.

Here it looks like you are defending the accused. No where you mention what's happened is totally wrong. Can anybody kill his own father for the sake of property. Sherin's father went abroad for the sake of family leaving behind all family members. It means children's fall in wrong company when parents slogging at abroad. As kerala is meant to be literate state as well as.having 100 divisions to please god..can we expect same. One of the first state having crime rate in our country. News sometimes never flash out. Really disgusting.

Dev Kumarji: You have taken a sword to find fault with everything I write, great job indeed.

What I have written was not defending the son or offending the father but simply telling the root cause of this hidden drama of selfishness-bitterness and revenge.

In your statement you have stated that Kerala is very high in crime and so, your God Modi has degraded Kerala as the new Somalia in the map of the world.

I am not going to dispute your statement about Kerala's high ranking in crime-double in liquor consumption-road accidents through liquor consumption-divorce rate-con game business enterprises etc. It was through the high jump in wealth, the rubber income and the Gulf income combined. Wealth can create good results if properly used, else it will destroy individuals-families and nations.

From my personal experience let me tell this. From the very early younger days of life, I never had love for money and when I saw somebody in need, I felt great joy in sharing what I had. I have one son and one daughter. We built a good house 20 years back in a posh area of the small city, when my wife and myself asked them, who wanted the house. Our daughter will say, give to my brother and son will say give to my sister. I have taught them to be humble and compassionate towards the suffering people of any color-caste-religion, because when we show them real love through sharing with them what we have, we are truly serving GOD. I was blamed by some of my relatives years back that I have not saved money for my children's education but I told them that they will be educated. Both of them were educated through scholarships.

The reason I am telling this is due to the fight I have watched in many homes both in Kerala and in the U.S. for wealth and property thus killing each other.

When we fail to give love for our children and teach them the real value and purpose of life, families will end up in tears.
