Mangalore, Nov 4: The Vijaya Bank’s Annual General Body Meeting (AGM) was organized here at Vijaya Towers near Jyothi circle in the city on Saturday, November 3.
Regional manager of Vijaya Bank, Mangalore K J Hegde welcomed the gathering, while secretary of the Vijaya Bank Rural Development foundation Rajendra Rai read last year’s report. The function was presided over by the Vijaya Bank, general manager of credit priority section, Shyamsunder Hegde.
In his key-note address to the gathering, speaking about the efficient organizational capacity of Vijaya Bank stated that the bank is well connected to rural areas and rural people. Moreover the bank has successfully conducted several training programmes for the benefit of the rural unemployed youth, in-order to train and motivate them to find suitable employment, he declared.
The Vijaya bank foundation is in-fact based on the concept of rural empowerment. The best rural development committee was awarded to Kadeswalya committee which was formed through the foundation.
Vice-president of the foundation Premanath Alva, V.P.Hegde regional manager, Udupi and Raveendra Ballal, C.E.O of foundation were present.
