What a joke. Karnataka to share Water Management Expertise? From Where? If we were expert we would not had drought beginning of summer, we don't have to spend tax payers money to implement Yettinahole project. Guys, don't teach Australians your dirty politics. Let them live peacefully guys. We are nuts, world knows it. No need to prove it.

Perhaps very few people now the success of 'Ramathal Drip Irrigation project' commissioned by Netafim in Bagalkot district.

Nearly 24,000 hectare benefiting 6,600 farmers of 22 villages. It has built for all season replacing conventional method of water canals.

Though technology is not indigenous success very immense.

Australia most of the settlement is living in coastal belts that left more than 90% facing acute shortage of water.

It seems Australians are interested in the success rate through field study.

Only problem in India is not production but storage, transport and kariff price. That is why we have high rate of suicides.

    While India lacks others explore.

This is joke of the century.
Compared to some other states in India, Karnataka is blessed with plenty of natural resources, one of them being water. In the name of progress, humans are showing blatant disregard towards the mother nature by destroying forests and hills. Concrete jungles are sprouting in place of fields and trees. One such example is our own Mangalore. Recently we had water shortage to the extent which was unheard of before. Previously, residents could depend on well water that was clean and was good for our daily use. Now, thanks to our deplorable drainage system, most of the houses that still have the facility of a well, cannot use the water due to high contamination. Mr Patil has to look into the various reasons for our water shortage internally, rather than spread the word of our ongoing mistakes internationally. I do not think Australia can take decisions on..
    a) Illegal sand trade.. causing problems at our beaches
    b) Contract with foreign companies for iron ore and stones from our hills and mountains
    c) Disappearing forests due to timber trade.
