Tejas was taken on the evening of June 28 to a spot near Majestic bus stand, Bengaluru, and forced to call his friend, Shivu, who runs a show room at Chikkamagaluru, asking him to pay ransom of ten lac rupees. Shivu was asked to hand over cash to a person named Pavan, who would be calling him in person. Tejes was also told to call a cellphone number before handing over cash to Pavan.
