Udupi, Jul 17: In an apparent jibe at Congress leader Janardhan Poojary who openly demanded chief minister Siddaramaiah's resignation over the suicide of DySP Ganapati, fellow Congressman M Veerappa Moily on Sunday July 17 said that party matters should be discussed internally and that it was not right to speak about them publicly.
Speaking to reporters during his visit to Udupi to participate in a Devadigara Sangha scholarship distribution programme, Moily said, "Party matters should be discussed internally. The party gives opportunity to express opinions, so it is not right to speak publicly. A responsible politician should not do this. When a new person takes charge, the senior leaders should show patience and cooperate."
He also said that recent issues that have been making headlines in the state should be dealt with patience by the government
To a question on BJP's demand for a change of chief minister, he said, "In Karnataka, there has never been an instance where the CM has been changed. The state has not come to that level yet."
On demands for resignation of minister K J George, he said, "There should be some basis for making such demands, there should be valid reasons and proofs. Judicial probe has been ordered, and now we have to wait for the judgement."
Regarding the much-debated 'dying declaration' by Ganapati in a television interview on the day of his suicide, he said, "The Supreme Court has issued new guidelines that dying declaration is not sufficient evidence to indict a person."
To a question on water shortage in some parts where the controversial Yettinahole project is located, he brushed aside the subject and quipped, "Both places (including his constituency) do not have water."
He also informed that his mega literary work 'Bahubali' would be published towards the end of 2017 and released two months before the Mahamastakabhisheka in 2018.
