Fake cow protectors should be exposed, severely punished: Modi

Gajwel (Telangana), Aug 7(PTI) : Keeping up his attack on cow vigilantes, Prime Minister Narendra Modi today asked people to beware of "fake" cow protectors as they were trying to create tension in the society.

He also asked the state governments to take stringent action against them.

Modi, while addressing a public meeting after inaugurating a host of development projects here, accused the cow vigilantes of trying to create tension in the society and said they should be exposed and punished.

"I want to tell everybody beware of these fake cow protectors. These handful of vigilantes have nothing to do with cow protection, but want to create 'tanaav' (tension) in the society," Modi said.

"In the name of cow protection, these fake cow protectors are trying to disturb the peace and harmony of the nation. I want the real cow protectors to expose them (fake ones) and the state governments should take stringent action against them," he added.

Describing cattle as country's wealth and not burden, the Prime Minister made a mention of a Himachal Pradesh Governor's campaign of protecting abandoned cows and handing them over to farmers to use them for agricultural activity.

"Cow will never become a burden. Cow urine and dung are used in agriculture," he said, adding that cow should be linked to the country's economic development.

India is a land of diversity, he said, adding "protecting our country's unity and integrity is our primary responsibility. To fulfil it all countrymen should protect and serve cows (gau raksha and gau seva karein). Such service enhances national wealth.... it does not create problem for the nation".

"But fake (cow protectors) destroy society and country. We need to beware of these people. There is a need to punish these people. Then alone can we take the nation to great heights," the Prime Minister said after inaugurating a host of development projects.

Modi's comments come at a time when his government and BJP are facing flak over incidents of violence against Dalits and Muslims by cow vigilantes in various states including Uttar Pradesh, Gujarat and Madhya Pradesh.

Earlier, Modi launched Phase-1 of Mission Bhagiratha, a flagship project of Telangana government aimed at providing piped drinking water to every household in the state.

Modi unveiled a plaque in Medak district's Komatibanda village in Gajwel constituency, represented in the Assembly by Telangana Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao, and formally turned on a water tap on the premises to mark the occasion.

This is Prime Minister's maiden visit to Telangana after formation of the state in June 2014.

Modi unveiled plaques to mark the laying of the foundation stone for the 152-km Manoharabad-Kothapalli new railway line (connecting Hyderabad and Karimnagar), NTPC's Telangana Super Thermal Power Project Stage-1 (2x800 MW), Ramagundam, Kaloji Narayana Rao University of Health Sciences, Warangal and revival of Ramagundam fertiliser plant (Karimnagar district).

He also dedicated to the nation the Singareni Thermal Power Project (2X600 MW) at Jaipur in Adilabad district.

Governor of Telangana and Andhra Pradesh E S L Narasimhan, Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao, Union Ministers M Venkaiah Naidu, H N Ananth Kumar, Suresh Prabhu, Piyush Goyal and Bandaru Dattatreya were among those present.

Our permanent tourist is getting a little scared of losing the forthcoming elections.

So far the minorities were d as outsiders - with the intention of garnering the support of the majority.

But rather unexpectedly the Dalits have turned out to be a major thorn in the side of the permanent tourist.

Imagine the vote of the Dalits going to some other parties. What will be left of the party of the permanent tourist?

SO naturally the permanent tourist is pained and anguished.

But none of these dalits can buy a property in Gujarat where the high caste people live. They are excluded. That does not pain and cause anguish to our deal permanent tourist.

It is very unfortunate that in hosts development projects he is speaking of cow dung. Cattle class govt.

If he is so keen to stop this atrocity against Dalits(we know he not concern for Muslims)first control your MP's and MLA's.

The Prime Minister’s speech expressing “pain” and “anguish” over attacks on Dalits is making media headlines. But, while going through media reports, It is shocked to realize that the prime minister has not once mentioned the word “Muslims” (or the word “minorities” as used by the people who don’t like to use word “Muslims” and instead use “minorities” to refer them) in his speech.

How to differentiate between genuine and fake cow protectors? Why govt cannot start cow protection agency? Atleast some employment opportunities will be created. Best solution is, ban beef, cow milk and milk products, and cow as national animal! Tigers are almost extinct now.
