Punjab: Gau Raksha Dal chief booked, lashes out at PM

Patiala, Aug 8 (PTI): Punjab police has booked Gau Raksha Dal Chief Satish Kumar for allegedly assaulting some persons on pretext of cow protection, a day after Prime Minister Narendra Modi asked the states to act against "fake" cow protectors.

The FIR was lodged on the basis of a video clip which appeared on social media, showing Gau Raksha Dal members brutally thrashing people, SSP Gurmeet Chauhan today said.

A case under sections 382 (having made preparation for causing death), 384 (committing extortion), 341 (wrongfully restraining any person), along with sections 148 and 149, of the Indian Penal Code (IPC) was registered, police said.

Kumar, who is yet to be arrested, said he has no information regarding the case. He alleged that the Prime Minister's remarks against cow vigilantism were motivated by "votebank politics" due to upcoming elections in many states.

"The PM's statement is politically motivated. It is one-sided. If he had warned the butchers not to slaughter or smuggle cow, then his statement would have been justified.

"He is doing vote bank politics to get the butchers' vote," Kumar said. He said the police were free to arrest him.

The Prime Minister's statement denunciating cow vigilantism came after a string of incidents of attacks on Dalits, including in Una, Gujarat where some youths were brutally assaulted for skinning a dead cow.

If you all see, this trend of cow stealing, love jihad, conversions, beating of young people talking to each other have started only with the rise of BJP!. When we were small and when no one heard about BJP, things were very peaceful. Our cows were freely grazing in the fields day and night and also we were getting beef in plentiful and cheap. Everyone including hindus used to sell their old cattle for slaughter houses freely but only cry when seeing it for the last time. What is going on now!?. This is the reason that is being said to defeat BJP in future elections in Punjab and Gujarat and this Modiji has realized!. Simply keep trade and fake love for cows separate!

This is a CLASSIC case. Those who scream and hound are the ones hit very hard below the belt for their illegal money amassing, criminal deeds and devouring national wealth by Modi government. Louder the voice against Modi, harder is he hit by Modi.

If any Bhakths missed yesterdays TimesNow debate on #CowBrigadeGoondagiri, just google it or YouTube it and watch.... Arnub-Go-Swami torn GoRakshak to the core and demonstrated their real motive infront of the viewers.

These many days, Bhakths, who were projecting Go-Swami as a great journalist for backing FEKU, after watching this debate, definitely will disown him.

..people who are trying to give communal colour to illegal cow transportation, should check previous DW report where a christian guy lead a delegation to SP requesting him to stop cow theft & illegal transporation of cow since he himself lost high bread cows several time and there are many instance where theives attacked with weapons..be vigilant of cow theft, stop illegal transportation but report to police..if you resort to then assault have to face action & end up in jail..No need PM to say this..

Why cow theft is happening.????? Simple reason is that cattle transport is banned and these so called Gau Rakshaks stop any vehicles which transport buffaloes, bullocks etc in the name of beef ban. No Body is stopping beef export....they are only targeting petty meat sellers, who do it for their livelihood, which they were doing since years. Why before beef ban and this BJP government cows were not stolen like these days...????

BJP and RSS are fully involved in inciting violence. It is a replacement issue for their previous Ram Mandir.

PM Modi has spoken against it, because he does not have choice. UP elections are coming and it is a important state for BJP. Dalits, Muslims votes really count here. RSS, BJP politics hit hard on their stomach and this is something they will remember for long.

This is a well planned strategy of BJP. They let RSS to do the dirty work and they take control, trying to tell the people we are in control of the situation and please trust us. Since the game is played over and over again. Most people know and they are angry on both BJP and RSS. Hope BJP and RSS start thinking more nationally uniting the nation rather than dividing.

While taking the State of Maharastra alone, how many thousands were pushed into hunger and unemployment is too many to count. The leather industry is in trouble in that State.

The two States of India, both Maharasta and Haryana have to pay a big price for creating rivers of tears for the thousands.

Using the word " God's own country is the worst abomination". Based on the highly increased crime rates-liquor consumption-drug use-rape-road accidents due to liquor use etc etc due to the highly increased wealth in the State made a mockery at GOD. GOD is not pleased with those things but in love-charity-empathy-forgiveness etc etc.
