Kasargod, Aug 12: The citizens of Mulleria in the district, who had grown suspicious about the intentions of a man who was moving around with a beacon light atop his car without any authorization, handed over the car and its driver to the police on Thursday August 11.
The car in question, of Ford make, bore a board in front which read, 'Narendra Modi Vichar Manch Youth State President Kerala'. The locals said that this car is being run by a person named Raja Mohammed from Tamil Nadu since the last several days.
It is being claimed that the name mentioned in the board is fake and there is no such entity in Kerala. Some suspected that the vehicle might have been in use for smuggling activity under the protection of board and beacon light. The citizens pointed out that even the state president of BJP does not have the authority to hoist beacon light on his car.
When some locals questioned him, the driver of the car provided vague replies. Thereafter, they got in contact with police sub-inspector of Adur station. The sub-inspector, who came to the spot, failed to extract a concrete reply from the driver, after which the car and its driver were taken to police station for investigation.
Some got in contact with union minister, D V Sadananda Gowda, on the issue upon which he said he would get in touch with the department concerned. BJP Karadka panchayat committee president, Chandu Master Mulleria, Hindu United Forum taluk committee general secretary, S K Udupa and others have urged the police to investigate the case impartially and take suitable action.
