Mysuru, Aug 25: Now it seems that chief minister Siddaramaih’s plan to draft his eldest son Dr Yathindra into politics is final even though it was earlier said that he was not interested in politics.
On Wednesday, Dr Yathindra was seen interacting with the people from Varuna constituency from where his father became MLA. Before that he offered prayers at a temple.
Siddaramaiah wanted someone to take care of the concerns of his constituency in Mysuru after the sad demise of his son Rakesh. Rakesh was the common link between Siddaramaiah and people of the constituency. Rakesh was supposed to take a plunge into politics once Siddaramaiah completed his tenure as the CM. Now, the responsibility has been given to Dr Yathindra, a healthcare professional.

Dr Yathindra lives in Mysuru with his mother and he told the local media that he would visit his father's constituency Varuna once every week and interact with the voters. But he maintained that he was unsure of his future in politics.
Though Siddaramaiah has appointed several representatives to listen to the grievances of the voters of his constituency, it was felt in family circles that someone like Dr Yathindra should follow in Rakesh’s footsteps in helping senior Siddaramaiah.
It is said that Yathindra decided to take care of Varuna at the insistence of his mother. But it is not clear whether Yathindra will enter electoral politics. Siddaramaiah senior is said to be keen on Dr Yathindra entering politics.
The 34 year-old pathologist has kept himself away from politics so far . "I went to my father's office in the constituency for the first time on August 20 and met people. I was collecting information regarding their requirements and will pass it on to my father. Some had come to offer condolences,'' he had told a newspaper on Monday.
When it was pointed out that interacting with people was halfway to entering politics, Yathindra said: "I won't look it that way. It's too early for me to say anything. I've never thought of joining politics.''
It is yet to be seen when Dr Yathindra will become true successor to his father.
