Bantwal, Sep 1: Station house officer of the town police station here, Nandakumar, said that the complaint relating to projecting of Hindu gods in poor light, using derogatory language, and spreading this objectionable material through social websites, has been transferred to cyber crime department for investigation.
Relating to the above incident, the police had registered suo motu case. On the basis of complaint filed by another person, another complaint also has been registered. In the meanwhile, taluk unit of Hindu Jagran Vedike has handed over separate complaints to the town and rural police stations here about the incidents, urging them to undertake immediate investigation. Karavali Samskritika Parishat has sent a complaint to the district superintendent of police, seeking legal action against the guilty. It said that this is part of a planned move to disrupt communal harmony in the district. They also feel that this might be a conspiracy aimed at disturbing peace and thereby forcing police to avoid issuing permission for holding Hindu festivals.
In the Facebook account standing in the name of Jabbar B C Road, obscene words were used against Goddess Durgaparameshwari of Kateel. Similarly, derogatory language was used against other gods and goddesses. Several persons had supported these posts and approved them by writing positive comments. The organizations have warned of resorting to protests in front of all the police stations in the district if the guilty are not arrested and legally proceeded against.
Leaders, Satish Kumpala, Dayanand, Harish, Jeevan Thokkottu, and others were present when handing over separate memorandums in this regard.
In the meanwhile, Sri Ram Sene, on Wednesday August 31, offered special prayers at Kateel Goddess Durgaparameshwari temple, seeking punishment for the person who posted filthy matter relating to the goddess. Zonal president of the Sene, Anand Shetty Adyar, said that this is a serious issue. He said that the Sene is praying to the goddess, as the complaint made to concerned officials in the past had not evoked any positive result.
Sri Ram Sene's state general secretary, Praveen Valke, Karkala taluk president, Avinash Karkala, activists of the Sene from Mangaluru and Karkala taluks were present. It is gathered that the temple management has also decided to file separate complaint for deriding the goddess in social websites.
