‘Ho Jeev’
‘Ho Jeev’ means- this life.Like all the dreamers out there, Jaison too is a dreamer. In his late teens he was keen about the realities of life- a life that is not always a walk in the park. When face to face with it, a young mind like his, responded in the form of songs and poems. ‘Ho Jeev’ is a glimpse of this response to life.
About the album
‘Ho Jeev’ Konkani music album has 10 songs of different moods and genres. Written and tuned by Jaison J Sequeira, this album will take the listener to different stages of life- from the dawn to the dusk. There is love, there is friendship and there is a lonely path. There is dance; there is joy and sorrow of a parting heart. There are memories, plenty of them knitted by a tiny string of happiness. Above all there is a regard for identity, for language.
Musically strong, this album displays the mastery of Roshan D’souza, Anjelore over ‘right chord at the right place’. Undoubtedly the tunes and music of ‘Ho Jeev’ will strike a chord with the listeners, especially those who look forward for quality and genuine music. One of the objectives during the production work was to produce unique yet familiar sounds. This has been achieved.
The layout of ‘Ho Jeev’ shows that equal consideration is given to ‘mass’ and ‘class’. The songs speak about love, friendship, family and relationships, childhood, importance of a girl child and the history and spirit of Konkani language. A complete package of 8 solos and 2 group songs well suited for singing competitions.
A blend of rendition by upcoming and experienced singers, ‘Ho Jeev’ could provide ‘signature songs’ to Prajoth D’Sa, Robin Sequeira, Jacqueline Fernandes, Cajethan Dias, Shiny Pereira, Ashwin D’Costa and Jaison J Sequeira who have sung the solos in the album. Nine out of the top ten voices of Soad 4, Konkani Reality Show have rendered their voices for ‘Ho Jeev’. Four young kids from Gurpur Parish got an experience of singing in a state of the art studio. Songs were mixed and mastered at Daijiworld Audio Visual Pvt Ltd, Mangalore and Orpheus, Kochi.
‘Ho Jeev’ was mostly financed by Jaison’s family. “I had expected a lot of support. But since it is my first venture only a few turned up. Ho Jeev is a reality only because my family stood by me. Forever grateful to all those who helped” he says. “I also received a lot of appreciation and words of encouragement from friends on Facebook, which strengthened my will” he adds expecting all of them to buy online album and audio CDs.
A song from the album goes, “I am a petal, and you are another. Many more make a flower. That’s the beauty of friendship”. If you have read till here, you surely are a friend- a music lover.
