Mangalore, Dec 14: India has abundant natural resources and bright young population. The growing minds should learn the skill of multi-tasks and covering several aspects at a time.  In this regard elders need to ignite their minds and thus encourage them to equip themselves with the necessary things, said Dr BN Suresh, director, Indian Space Research Organization (ISRO), on Thursday December 13.

He was addressing the students of city-based Expert Pre University Science College at "a lecture and Interaction with Dr BN Suresh organized by the college at the Town Hall here.

Most of the innovations and discoveries were not easily accepted, for instance, Wright brothers. When they flew with the aeroplane they assembled on their own, they were ridiculed to the limit, but nothing hindered from paving the way for the aeroplane, he added.

Science should be treated as fun rather a subject. Curiosity, observation power and innovative thinking or out-of-box thinking is essential in order to learn science. Goal, clarity of thought, involvement and discipline is must for achievement. One should not get dishearten from failure, he should take it in the right spirit instead.

The human race is half a million years old, but it has undergone tremendous change, India is no exception in this regard. However, the human race has achieved exponential growth in the last 150 years. Today India is in a position that makes every Indian feel proud of the land. White revolution, green revolution and IT revolution are the outcome of the perseverance and persistence, he asserted.

Dr G Prem Kumar, trustee, Expert Pre University Science College, Narendra Nayak, chairman and Usha Prabha Nayak were present on the occasion.
