Mangalore, Dec 27: A drive is being organized to collect photographs and biometric imprints in the city by the department of food and civil supplies, according to a press release from the department.
City tahsildar K Raju Mogaveera stated in the release that officials will collect photographs and biometric imprints of temporary computerised ration card holders.
The card holders will have to present the original card having the MNG number and pay the prescribed fee of Rs. 25 at the time of taking the photographs.
There are provisions made at the same venue to correct any discrepancies in ration cards such as name and age, deletion of names of the dead, addition of new names etc.
Card holders will have to inform the officials if the names of the deceased persons were deleted or the name of any card holder is registered in more than one card.
Families having more then one card and those having BPL cards have to mandatorily return the cards and receive the acknowledgement receipt.
Those not eligible for BPL card holders will be issued an APL card once they surrender their BPL cards, the release informed. Moreover, those above 12 years of age will have to compulsorily take their photographs.
Details can be obtained from the respective gram panchayat office, taluk office or office of the deputy director, department of food and civil supplies.

Dec 29: ZP school - Kemar, ZP school - Padu Konaje, Yuvaka Mandala - Ashwathapura, ZP school - Kumbur.
Dec 31: GP Office - Paladka, Anganwadi centre - Kudri Padavu, ZP school - Gudde Angadi.
