Mangalore: Catholic Sabha, Suratkal Celebrates Decennial

Mangalore, Jan 18: The Decennial celebration of the Catholic Sabha, Suratkal was held on Sunday January 13. The celebration began with thanksgiving mass at 7.30 am at the Sacred Heart Church, Suratkal.

Fr Vincent Monteiro, spiritual director of Catholic Sabha Mangalore Pradesh (R) Central Committee, Fr Wilson V D’Souza, secretary of Catholic Board of Education and Fr J B D’Souza parish priest of Suratkal church offered the thanksgiving mass. A get-together of all the life members of Catholic Sabha, Suratkal was held after the mass.

A souvenir was released on the occasion by Ivan D’Souza. Ln K S Thammaiah, social worker and Sylvester Pereira, senior brass band musician were honoured on the occasion by Fr Vincent Monteiro. Fr John Mendonca, dean of Pezar deanery honoured the past presidents of the Catholic Sabha - Peter D’Souza, Ligoury D’Souza, Jerome Peter Pinto and Alwyn Sequeira.

Lancy D’Cunha, president, Catholic Sabha Mangalore Pradesh (R) Central Committee honoured the past secretaries. Parishioners Suzan Pinto, Teena Rebello and Kevin Misquith were honoured with memento. George Ligoury D’Souza, president, Catholic Sabha Suratkal unit welcomed the gathering. Jessy W D’Souza presented the decennial report.

Jerome Pinto and Gretta Pinto compered the programme. Roydon Roche proposed the vote of thanks. “Mamma Retire Jaatha," a Konkani drama was staged by Maxim Rodrigues Bondel and his team on the occasion.
