New Delhi, Feb 15 (IANS): Delhi Police on Wednesday said it had detained four youths in connection with the murder of two cousin brothers in the capital the previous day in what they believe is a love-triangle case.
The bodies of Ashu and Ankush were found at Japani Park in north Delhi on Tuesday night at around 8:30 p.m. during the checking of the park.
The bodies were lying at a distance of 80 metres from each other, which suggests they were trying to escape their attackers.
Ashu and Ankush, both between 19 and 20 years of age, were residents of Shiv Vihar in Rohini area. They were students of 10th class.
They had left their residence on Tuesday evening at 5 p.m. after their common friend Bobby called them. They told their family that they would be back within half an hour, police said.
Bobby, a meat shop owner in Rohini, is among the four detained.
"Their bodies had half a dozen stab wounds. Three mobile phones and a ladies' slipper were found at the spot. Prima facie, love triangle and illicit relations may be the reason behind this brutal murder," a senior police officer said.
During investigation, it was found that Ashu was in relationship with a girl but his father did not approve of it.
There seems to be involvement of two to three persons in the case, police said.
