KSRTC to operate Volvo buses on Mangaluru-Bhatkal route from Mar 5

Mangaluru, Mar 4: The city division of Karnataka State Road Transport Corporation (KSRTC) would be operating buses on the city and Bhatkal route beginning from March 5 for the convenience of the general public.

Six new buses are being introduced for this purpose, and a total of nine trips will be operational everyday on this route, it is gathered. They will be in addition to Volvo buses already running on the city-Manipal route.

The bus fare for Volvo buses has been fixed at Rs 225 from the city to Bhatkal, and Rs 160 to Kundapur. The journey from Udupi to Kundapur will cost Rs 65 and from Manipal to Kundapur also Rs 65. The price of ticket between Kundapur and Byndoor has been fixed at Rs 45, a release from KSRTC divisional controller here stated.

The first trip to Bhatkal will leave from the city at 6.45 am and reach Bhatkal at 9.45 am. Trips will leave the city thereafter at 7.15 am, 7.45 am, 10 am, 10.30 am, 11 am, 2.45 pm, 3.15 pm and 3.45 pm.

The return trips from Bhatkal start at 6 am, 6.30 am, 7 am, 10.45 am, 11.15 am, 11.45 am, 2 pm, 2.30 pm and 3 pm. These buses will have stops at Suratkal, Mulky, Udupi, Manipal, Brahmavar, Kundapur and Byndoor, it is learnt.

    Great service by KSRTC. The last trip from Mangaluru should be after 6.00PM. This will help many who go to Mangaluru specially for medical treatment and procedure.

    Surely more trips will be needed to carry airport passengers , if well organized.

    Good boost for tourism, weddings, Christmas and New Year and other major events in Coastal area.

    Great news!! people from dakshin kannada ,udupi district can visit many tourists spots in bhatkal taluk - jain basadis, murudeshwar temple, light house, beaches also people of bhatkal taluk and other parts of uttar kannada district can travel by this bus to mangalore ,manipal ,udupi for hospitals

    Why this bus has to pass thru Manipal ??????.... It is nothing but waste of time to travel from udupi to Manipal and back .

    We will find unaccounted gold and foreign currency transported by the people using this service. Who in turn use the Mangaluru International Airport. There will also use it for other illegal activities.
