Mangaluru, Mar 8 : Kalakul presented a play based on the concept of God and the Devil, titled ‘Dev ani Denvchar’ at Kalaangann's 183rd Monthly Theatre, on Sunday, March 5. The show witnessed a houseful audience.
Prior to the show was the handing over of a collection of 728 books belonging to Late Prof Alban Castelino, to the Kalaangann Library. The stack of books were symbolically handed over to Louis J Pinto, president of Mandd Sobhann. Denzil Castelino and Walter Castelino, Prof Alban’s son and brother, respectively, were present on occasion. Gurkar, Eric Ozario, and Kishore Fernandez – Secretary, were present on stage.
Play Plotline
God decides to recreate the world to make it as beautiful as it was in the beginning, filled with goodness. He takes the assistance of the devil in selecting a planning committee as to how the new world should be. The devil fulfils his duty and later God recreates the new world as he wanted it to be.
The question of whether the new world remains good or becomes even worse forms the climax of the play.
Vikas Lasrado, Rohan D’Souza, Sheldon Tauro, Flavia Rodrigues, Frivita D’Souza, Swarna Veigas and Jackson D’Cunha enacted this play written by Arun Raj Rodrigues and directed by Christopher D’Souza Neenasam.
Alron Rodrigues provided music and Hanley Coelho handled the lighting.
Vittori Karkal compered the ceremony.
