Mangalore, Mar 4: Here is a person who has made Mangaloreans proud on Tuesday March 4. He is none other than RJ Vishwas of Radio Mirchi 98.3 FM.
Radio Mirchi is completing 102 days in the city and RJ Vishwas made an attempt to record his entry into Limca Book of Records, by keeping the listeners entertained for 102 hours. This record was completed at 11.00 am on Tuesday.
Vishwas started his attempt at 5.00 am on Friday February 29, with ‘Munjaneya Raaga’ when Radio Mirchi completed its 98 days here. He guided the listeners through various programmes and took them through Mangalore on various aspects from the different art forms such as Kambala, yakshagana, light music and the flavours of the city. Eminent personalities were also present to support him on his endeavour to enter the Limca Book of Records.
His dream came true when he completed 102 hours on Tuesday at 11.00 am and it was a great occasion not only for him but also for all Mangaloreans. Vishwas celebrated this moment by cutting cake and sharing it with his parents, colleagues and media friends. Even after 102 hours of continuous anchoring, he did not seem much tired and he was active as usual.
Speaking to media persons, he said that one of the callers asked them to do something new to mark the 100 days in Mangalore and RJ Vishwas came forward with his record making attempt named as ‘Mirchi Express.’
This express train ran for 102 hours non-stop and Vishwas monitored it from the studio. Other RJs of Radio Mirchi here also provided inputs by visiting various parts of the city.
According to Vishwas, it’s only an attempt for the record and he dedicated it to all Mangaloreans. Sources said that it may take few days to enter this record into Limca Book of Records. But record is certain.
RJ Vishwas has already carved a niche for himself as a multi-faceted personality. This is just another feather in his already glittering cap. He is also the anchor for TV Daijiworld.
