Mangalore: Autorickshaw Driver Lancy Murdered near Sevantigudde

Mangalore, Mar 5: It is quite painful to know that autorickshaw drivers who are the lifeline of public transport are becoming victims of hatred and grudge.  Somewhat they are becoming easy prey to the assailants. It was only a week ago that an autorickshaw driver was hacked to death near Bantwal while a few more had been murdered in recent past.

Now in yet another such case, an auto driver of Thokkottu was murdered near Gandi of Sevantigudde here on Wednesday March 5.

The murdered has been identified as Lancy (27) a resident of Nittyadhar site near Ranipura. He had gone missing from Tuesday March 4 night. However he was found murdered at Gandi.  His head was smashed with a granite stone.

Details about the murderers and motive behind the murder is yet to be known. Sources said that Lancy was very friendly and hardly had any enemies.  Auto drivers of Thokkottu and people of the surrounding said that he was a good man and enjoyed good relationship with all.  So it has become difficult to know the motive of the murder. However, the Ullal police have begun investigation.

Lancy had married some 4 years ago and has a two and half year old child.
