  • The only domestic airline in the world to be awarded the status

Bangalore, Mar 5: Kingfisher Airlines, India’s favorite airline, has been  conferred the ‘5 - Star Airline Status’, the most recognized and prestigious award that honours airline Product and Service Quality Excellence, by Skytrax, the world’s leading, independent travel forum and air travel information organization.

The Skytrax survey is an independent survey conducted without any influence or communication to the airlines and is recognized as one of the most reliable ranking systems for airlines across the world. The survey is conducted amongst all certified airlines in the world irrespective of size or nationality and every airline is ranked on the basis of the "delivered" front-line Product and Service quality - with Star Ranking levels representing "international" product and service standards. Star ratings reflect the reality of delivered product and service supplied to customers.

Commenting on the honour, a visibly elated Dr Vijay Mallya, chairman & CEO, Kingfisher Airlines said, "Being recognized by Skytrax is an honor and we would like to thank our valued guests who chose to fly Kingfisher Airlines! It is gratifying to see that our approach of providing our guests with a delightful and unique flying experience has been recognized. "

The verdict of the research summary from Skytrax states that the young airline that has already captured the hearts of millions of Indians has been developed around the ethos of delivering the highest standards of customer service - a very well balanced product is now in place for Indian domestic routes, and standards of service delivery are extremely well-ranked.

The real winning factor for Kingfisher Airlines is the quality of service being provided to its guests. The Kingfisher Airlines staff delivers high standards of service efficiency, in a sincere and charming manner that makes the airline stand out from the rest.

"Service Par Excellence" was my personal comment when for the first time, 2 years back, I took Kingfifisher from Bombay to Mangalore. Hence it is not a big surprise for Kingfisher having won the coveted award - since it maintained its standard of customer service.

For Mr. Mallya it is one more feather on his cap and I congratulate him. I would urge him now to look towards Middle East for his expansion. One or two flights a week, to start with, from Jeddah to Mangalore would boost his confidence and to go forward to have flights from Kuwait and UAE. Keep up the name and fame.

Congratulation to all Kingfisher staff. Mr. Mallya please start your service to Gulf (All GCC) to Mangalore. We are really tired and sick of Air India/Exress because of their ugly service and ticket fare.  I hate Air India authorities for cheating to our own people by increasing thier price as they wish.

Whenever we check fare on online every minute the prices will go up. Is AI authorities are bidding/gambling. Is any of our leaders are talking or taking any action about the Ticket fare. I think they are now sitting beyond the screen.

My question is AI is a Govt of India carrier and not a private carrier why they do not keep fixed price (economic fare during peak season also).

Congratulation to Mr. Vijay Mallya and his team on having conferred the 5 * airline award by SKYTRAX. Indeed during my regular travel by the kingfisher airlines, I have experienced the excellence of their staff and a much better service as compared to other domestic airlines.

We also request the airline to take up international routes as soon as possible particularly considering Mangalore as their final destination and to the Gulf especially Kuwait since there is not yet a direct connection to Mangalore from the State of Kuwait.
