Success of note ban due to high moral character of Indians: Yogi Adityanath

Lucknow, Apr 15 (IANS): Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath on Friday credited the success of demonetisation to the "high moral character" of the people of India.

Speaking at an event here, Yogi said that while many countries had failed miserably in their demonetization efforts, India succeeded in doing so under the vision and leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi as people knew that "after a little suffering", the country would benefit in the long-term.

"When demonetization happened, all hell broke loose, people suffered some hardships but despite prompting and provocation by the media, people standing in long queues never uttered a word against the Prime Minister or the decision to demonetize high value currency notes, as it was evident to them that the motive behind the move was just, noble and with far reaching consequences," he said.

Citing the example of Venezuela where riots broke out under similar conditions and emergency was clamped, the Chief Minister said it was a tribute to the honest spirit of the people of India that they faced short term hardships but decided to bear them for long term good.

    Kadrimai,

Real reason for demonetization was to deny Akilesh and Mayawati access to their ill gotten wealth during UP elections....and Modi fully succeeded in this...election results prove this...these two were so corrupt that people excused Modi of his own shortcomings....In that way it(demonetization) succeeded....

Dawood was printing counterfeiting Indian currency in Pakistan and disrtibuting it in India ,using that money for terrorism in India is a fact....many of the politicians including some from BJP (Eknath Kadse etc) were involved in this is also a fact...

Did demonetization completely stopped this, perhaps answer is no...but I believe it was reduced to some extent...

Overall Demonetization was good for the country....

    ...KM...

Anyone with some common sense has realized that the hidden agenda behind the demonetization was to write off bad debts of wilful defaulters and NPAs. But then common sense is the most uncommon thing!

Let each of you look not only to his own interests, but also to the interests of others.”.

Any politicians who are interested in his own.... i.e. I have seen Azam khan sent the police force to search his missing Buffaloes, Most of the politicians are thinking about their benefit.... Fill their pocket. kill, rape etc only for his benefits but if any politicians are thinking about other people, he is Hindu, Muslim or Christian..... I will support them.

Some of higher officials using our officials for their house work etc. I feel Note Ban is also good but the people who were having black money were objecting????

What success? People were made to struggle making them to stand in long ques after putting days of leave. Many small scale industries are closed and crores of people lost thier livelihood. Who will feed them.

When Demonitisation was made. One SP Party worker asked a BJP Leader change for Rs. 2000. WHo fuming left the stage.
Its was that there was no other alternative that people Patiently waited.

Modi and Yogi both will be like two eyes of India in future. No doubt that Demonetization is a grand success in India and people are very happy about it. Nalinji should propose Mangalore to have a plant which manufactures BURNOL.

Which success is this CM talking about ? Reason to impose demonetization was said to be (1) Eradicate black money (2) Curtail duplication (3) Dissuade terror funding. Contrary to the success Yogi and Modi are boasting about, black money was regularized using Jan-Dhan accounts but several crores of demonetized currency continues to be confiscated in raids. Duplicate notes came within a week of introducing Rs. 2000 note. No guarantee that terror stopped after Sept.

Above all, NRIs from Karnataka got their old currency submitted to customs officials in the airport on arrival but the banks in the state asked them to go to Chennai/Mumbai to get the bills converted because no authorized RBI banks exist in Karnataka. Imagine buying a ticket to Mumbai/Chennai to convert mere 4-5K Rupees ?

Please BJP, do remember that India is home to educated people and its stretched beyond UP.
