Mangalore: Fr Henry Castelino Celebrates Platinum Jubilee

Mangalore, Mar 23: Fr Henry Castelino, former principal of St Mary's College, Shirva, mentor of several students who brought laurels to the college by their achievements both in India and abroad besides his human virtues which remained steadfast all along the difficult times, celebrated his platinum jubilee in a simple ceremony held at St Rita's church, Cascia at 11.30 a m on Sunday March 23.



















 
Fr Henry Castelino has cut the birthday cake in the presence of Bishop Aloysius Paul D'Souza, Fr Vincent Victor Menezes, parish priest of St Rita's church, Fr Anil Castelino, assistant parish priest, Deacon Naveen Prakash Pinto and other priests at the church auditorium. 

It was indeed a glorious moment to Fr Henry Castelino, who pioneered to educate the rural promising students in a remote neighbourhood of Shirva, around 20 kilometers from Bajpe airport, few decades ago.  Moreover, it was also a co-incidence that Fr Henry Castelino had celebrated golden jubilee of priesthood on March 3, 2008.

    Dear Rev. Fr.Henry Castelino, Congratulations on your 50 years of Priesthood and best wishes on your 75th Birthday. May Almighty God shower His choicest Blessings on you. I still remember my college and hostel days i.e. 1966 to 1969 when you were the Principal and Warden of St.Philomena college, Puttur.

    If I am successful in my life today, it is only because of your blessings, help and encouragement given by you during my stay at St. Philomena College and Hostel. I am proud to tell you that I am well settled in Abu Dhabi with my wife, 3 Sons, Daughter-in-Laws and 3 Grand Children. May God Bless you with good health, happiness and Long Life.     Good Morning Mr. Walty. We are very happy that Fr Henry Castelino celebrated his platinum jubilee on the day of EASTER i.e. Sunday, the 23rd March 2008. Fr. Castelino having a great human being as such his 75th Birthday fallen on the memorable day, we can observe this moment only on our beloved Fr. Castelino. May “Jesus Christ” Will bless him always.
