Neetha Shetty awarded Sheik Maktoum Bin Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum Cambridge Award

Dubai, Mar 24: An inspirational and accomplished teacher Neetha Shetty was awarded HH Sheikh Maktoum bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum Cambridge Award at a function held at Madinath Al Jumeiraha on 17 March 2008
Neetha who has always been a Topper as a student teaches Maths to Advanced Level Classes in The Westminster School Dubai.
She has been awarded for her initiative in starting 12th and 13th British Curriculum Classes, for her hard work and motivational skills which resulted in 100% results.
"I was always a topper in class. When I scored 200/200 in grade 12….my father inspired me to specialize in Maths" said Neetha when quizzed by Daiji correspondent.
Thus began her quest for excellence which resulted in bagging Gold Medal in Maths(Msc) while doing her post graduation at Centre for Post Graduate studies – Pondicherry. Later Neetha’s dream to be a teacher became true when she graduated in Education ( B.Ed) at Annamalai University.
“Every old and new student thinks that this subject is very difficult to muster but by incorporating easy and understandable system in teaching one can teach Maths to the enjoyment of the learners” asserts this teacher par excellence.
Her authored series of Maths Text Books for Grade 1 to 5 has been well received by academicians and the students as well.
Neetha Shetty was born in Thokuru Suratkal. Father Bhujanga Shetty is from Aikala Bava and mother Shakuntala Shetty is from Thokuru Gutthu. She is married to Deviprasad Shetty who is serving as an Accountant in a local company in Sharjah. Daughter Shraddha Shetty is studying in Grade 6 at OOESS .
Though born in Karavali her primary education was in Capital Bangalore and later shifted to Pondicherry. Her convent education at St.Joseph of Cluny,Pondicherry & later higher education at Bharathidasan Women’s college ( Bsc –Maths) not only gave her the solid foundation in her favorite subject but also gave the confidence which Neetha exhibited in arranging many social activities like Fashion shows, Music festival etc for collecting funds for charity.
Versatile Neetha is a motivator and confidence booster and her adept handling of children has given her the name as the ‘Best Teacher ‘and now the award as ‘Inspiration Teacher’. Over the years she has cultivated the habit of producing hundred percent results classes.
She is no doubt an inspirational icon as a teacher for the younger generation.
