TN to hold global investors meet in 2018


Chennai, June 3 (IANS): Tamil Nadu Chief Minister K. Palaniswami on Saturday said the state would hold its second global investors conference in 2018.

Speaking at the third Southern Regional Conference of the Confederation of Indian Industry (CII) here, Palaniswami announced the next Global Investors Meet (GIM).

The first GIM was held in 2015.

He said out of the 98 Memorandum of Understanding signed during the first GIM involving an investment of Rs 2.42 lakh crore, 61 projects were under various stages of implementation involving an investment of Rs 62,738 crore.

Palaniswami said the state government will take the economy to the next level by making necessary policy changes, setting up infrastructure, simplifying norms for setting up industries and giving preference to the development of human resources.
