Kuwait, Jun 13: United Mangaloreans Kuwait (UMK) are all geared up to host the seventh 'Fun Filled Evening 2017' on Friday November 10 at American International School auditorium (AIS), Maidan Hawalli from 4.00 pm.
The motto of the group is provide a platform for local talents and to help the underprivileged back home in Mangaluru.
In these eight years UMK has staged six fun filled evening programmes and contributed over Rupees one crore to seven needy institutions in and around Mangaluru. The overwhelming support from the sponsors and well-wishers facilitated the generous contribution.
This year, UMK will present a variety of cultural programmes and a Konkani social comedy drama in aid of:
Vimukti Belthangady, Karnataka, India (Capuchin Krishik Seva Kendra, rehabilitation of most vulnerable mentally challenged and differently abled children) Mount Rosary Charitable Institutions, Moodbidri, Karnataka, India (caring for the destitute, physically/mentally challenged, aged and bedridden sick people)
As part of the Fun Filled Evening 2017, a muhurat ceremony comprising of Konkani social comedy drama, written by Ronald D’Souza, Mulki, 'Meet Mirsang' was held at the residence hall of Salmiya, Kuwait on Friday June 9.
The anchor for the evening, Shawn Pereira welcomed the gathering.
Advisor Roque Lewis, founder member and drama writer/director Ronald D’Souza Mulki, founder member and former treasurer Nancy Pinto, founder member Clifford Aranha and group leader/gurkar of UMK, Agnel Saldanha were present on the dais.
The ceremony began with a prayer by Levnis Suares, followed by the lighting of the lamp by the guests present on the dais.
Ronald D’Souza along with the guests on the dais inaugurated the drama script book and spoke a few lines about the drama.
Nirmala Machado shed light on UMK’s journey through the past eight years. She appreciated the unity and hard work of all the members and thanked the sponsors for their overwhelming support.
Treasurer Jerald Lobo appeal to all to support and work hard to collect maximum financial aid to fund the above two needy organizations.
In his address Gurkar of UMK, Agnel Saldanha expressed his gratitude to all the members for having supported him throughout the years of leadership and requested them to work tirelessly for the success of the forthcoming event, to reach the goal of helping the underprivileged. He invited all to participate and be part of UMK’s worthy cause.

Mclean Rodrigues lead the oath taking, on behalf of drama artistes.
Refreshments were served to the guests.
The evening concluded with the vote of thanks proposed by Lucy Aranha.
