Mangalore, Apr 19: Geeta Saralaya, director of Nrutya Bharati located at Kadri and her daughter Rashmi Saralaya jointly performed the  Bharatanatyam as part of the  decennial celebration of the institution on Saturday, April 19 evening.

Geeta Saralaya has been recognized as one the leading Bharatanatyam artistes in the city, performing since 20 years. She is known for her compositions of modern style  blended with  the old tradition. She has performed at the  Mysore Dasara  6 times and participated in several state and national level programmes . Her daughter Rashmi Saralaya is a postgraduate degree holder. She has performed in over 500 classical recitals . The mother –daughter duo performance of over two hours entertained an audience of over  a thousand enthusiasts.









Dr M Mohan Alva, president of Alvas Education Foundation presided over the function. Sri Keshavananda Bharati Swamiji of Edaniru Math blessed the occasion.








Ullal Mohankumar of Kotekar Natyaniketan, inaugurated the programme. P Jayaram Bhat, chief general manager of Karnataka Bank, was present on this occasion.
