New Delhi, June 30 (IANS): After "WannaCry", data recovery solutions provider Stellar has successfully helped victims of "Petya" ransomware attack by recovering all data from their infected drives, the company said on Friday.
Stellar had earlier released an update to their software 'Stellar Phoenix Windows Data Recovery' to help consumers globally recover their data successfully after the "WannaCry" ransomware attack last month.
The software works effectively on drives infected by "Petya" ransomware as well, the company said in a statement.
"Our research and development team works hard at creating solutions that are effective and help rescuing consumers and organisations from such situations time and again, reinforcing our commitment towards our customers," said Sunil Chandna, CEO, Stellar Data Recovery, in a statement.
Stellar's in-house team of data recovery experts worked on multiple cases they received and provided free consultation to organisations and individuals on how they can recover their data through 'Stellar Phoenix Windows Data Recovery'.
The "Petya" ransomware has breached thousands of computers and servers around the world.
It exploits vulnerabilities in the user's operating systems and once it infects any machine in a network, it quickly spreads across all other machines on that network as a forced update.
