Mangaluru: Hundreds of university students demand justice for Kavya

Daijiworld Media Network - Mangaluru (SP)

Mangaluru, Aug 1: Students of Mangalore University at Konaje here held a protest in front of the main gate of the university on Tuesday August 1, and demanded to hand over probe into the suicide case of Kavya, a student of Alva's college, Moodbidri, to Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI).

Pratheek, a student, speaking on the occasion, noted that a number of girls have been dying in this prestigious educational hub since some years. He said that the death of Kavya has turned into a horrible incident for the student community as a whole.

"It appears that lives of sports persons are not valued. We condemn the entire incident. Although they show CCTV footage of the student going in and out, the footage of the body being taken out is not being shown. In the past too, several girl students of the college had committed suicide. Because of some very strong and strange reasons, suicides are happening in hostel buildings there. We condemn the fact that students who are good at sports activities are not being given any value in a college where international level sports pesons are being mentored. This case needs to be handed over to CBI at the earliest," he stated.

Another student, Siraj, said people have suspicion about the death of Kavya. He too supported the demand for handing over the case to CBI. "Students need to be given due importance and respect in educational institutions across the district. This is not a protest against this particular educational institutions, but in support of demand to see that parents of Kavya get justice," he added.

Harish M said that the student community had come together here with the sole purpose of ensuring that social justice is done. "This is not a protest against any particular individual or institution. In the book written by Ambedkar, there is mention about right to protest. Hence, we have set aside norms of cast, religion etc, and come together for striving to get social justice," he explained.

A girl student, Shubhada, wanted culprits behind this case to be brought to book. To make that happen, she said, there is a need to give this case to CBI.

Before the protest was held at the main gate of the university, the students took out a protest procession in the compound of the university.

It looks like the college management is very close to political circles. That is why the ABVP is not taking any active role in this matter. They have been asked to keep their hands off this. Didn't you read what H.D. Kumaraswamy said the other day? He gave his judgement that the management is above all suspicion. I don't know how much money he must have been paid to say this. The poor students are protesting to get justice. I don't think in the present set up anything just is going to happen. They are just breaking their heads against a rock.

Ironically, saffron flag clad 'Akhila Bhartiya Violence Parishad' who are protesting from JNU to Banaras campus is missing in Alva's college suspicious death case.

BJP student wing ABVP wanted JNU shut for 'Azadi' slogans based on doctored video is know shut their own mouths and moral police don't even wanted to take moral responsibility of daughter of future India.

Is it the close proximity of Dr. Alva to Sangh parivar deter them for their basic right of protest?
Kavya death will be another Sowjanya which is willingly unwillingly won't be solved due to powerful connections.

It is nice to see that all students united together and protesting and airing their feelings on the mysterious death of Ms.Kavya-a brilliant student and sports woman and for the justice of Kavya's parents. Though according to college authorities Kavya's death is suicide, whole world is under the impression that it was an well planned murder. Only thorough and impartial investigation will bring out the truth.
However many such incidents have been happened in the campus in the past, many protests, demands and investigations did not bring or yield fruitful result. That was because of deteriorating law and orders in the district and laxity of the elected government. For them it is silly things but for the parents of the victims it was a big blow and agony. End result was BIG ZERO. Because money power plays an important role in gagging the mouth of concerned departments, who probe, investigate the case. Sufferers are the poor parents.
Present visit by the elected representatives and consoling the family of Kavya is mere publicity stunt and eye wash just for the sake of vote bank. Nothing else. They do nothing. In the past also we have experienced. What happened in the case of Soujanya, Akshata and many more girls who have been either molested, gang raped or murdered?.The concerned department’s authorities could not open their mouths as their mouths have already been gagged by the high level political pressure.
We can show our solidarity, sympathy and pressurize the concerned departments and government by holding rallies, protests, demanding CBI investigation and lighting candles but ultimate result will be wind up the case very politely and good for nothing. Here in this case different organizations, people as a mere laymen expressed their own plus and minus opinions without knowing the actual facts. Even I am expressing the same. Bottom line should be “JUSTICE TO THE PARENTS OF MS.KAVYA” by hook or crook.
However some of your students may not be knowing for what they are protesting. When we see their pictures, it seems they enjoying the situation, giggling, laughing and happier as if they are going for Picnic.
Need of the hour is justice, justice to the parents of Ms.Kavya and complete full stop to such atrocities, murder, suicide, gang rapes etc henceforth. I mean with this Ms.Kavya’s chapter. Real culprit behind this heinous murder should be brought into book and severe punishment; even capital punishment should be meted out. People should think twice before committing any such crimes in the future. About ABVP I don’t have any clue, why they are not making their noise and kept silent in this case. Because she is from poor family or because of religion or because of any political links. They should explain to us. Don’t succumb to any external pressure.
But we Tuluvas never leave this case as it is herewith until we get justice to the family of Kavya. If no result is come out within stipulated time,we go for a state-wide protest.
I appreciate University students for their solidarity and protest for the justice of Kavya’s family.Today Kavya,Akshata,Soujany and tomorrow any one from our family. Many such cases in the past have been unnoticed or closed the case without any result. This time,it is the time to awake and arise all the elected representatives of the district and elected government and do justice to the family. Our’s is very educated and intelligent people’s district and therefore such incidents should recur in the future. Replenish the lost confidence of parents, who send their wards to this instauration with great hopes. If this trend continues, institution will lose their credentials, name, fame. Before it is too late, college authorities should come forward and reveal the truth, don’t try to protest the culprit. Whoever may be, culprit should be given capital punishment.
Well done Prathik-because I know him personally for initiating this protest to avenge and show our solidarity for the justice. We are all with you. Let your noise will be big enough and should bring positive result.God bless you all.

Political contestants from the parties for forth coming assembly elections please be informed that donations and support from big institutions is of no use if you won't gain public trust.

People should not vote to political leader if they don't help to get justice to Kavya's parents.

Political leaders have confidence that people gradually forget incidents .

We don't want any prestigious institutions by the cost of innocent souls.

The investigation is already on. Let the police come out with a result with substantiating findings.

The Left oriented self acclaimed rationalists, who conduct a parallel Nudisiri with no audience against the massive Nudisiri are behind this propaganda. When Dr. Mohan Alva himself has asked for an impartial enquiry, what these students protesting against? Do they want to dissolve Karnataka police if they want CBI to investigate a suicide/murder case too?

Just today, I was complaining that our students have become complacent. Students, your future is getting politicised, communal iced, criminalised by those in authority. You have every right to become thoughtful and act for what is right. Don't get swayed by any fanatical, religious party, but reflect, how do you want your future to be. As a group fight all these manipulative politicians, religious heads, powerful corrupt leaders, who serve only their needs. Be peaceful, but not complacent

When they peeped through the window they saw Kavya hanging. One of the girls entered the room climbing the wall and opened the lock. When they noticed that Kavya had just hanged, they lowered Kavya to take her to the hospital. ………............................

This is an artificially created story.
In the era of rapid communication why did the girls who were involved in the rescue operation did not contact warden/Senior staff or Dr Mohan Alva.
Let that girl who had climbed the wall to enter the room come forward and demonstrate how exactly she did it.
Justice will never be done Kaya's parents.
Police and the government are more concerned about Institute rather than Kavya's life.
    Kaya is just another Sowjany.
It is quite certain that plenty of Kavya's close friends may aware of the truth.
It is not a big deal for the Police to unearth the truth.
But they will never do it.
