Mangaluru, Aug 1: A student, who was pursuing MD (pathology) postgraduate degree course in a medical college in the city committed suicide by slitting his throat with a blade in his hostel room. He has been identified as H K Prasad (28) from Davangere district.

Prasad, a final year of postgraduate degree course, stayed alone in his hostel room. On Sunday, his family members who called him, failed to get any response. Growing apprehensive, they called college authorities on Monday morning. Staff of the college administration visited his hostel room and found that Prasad had ended his life.

It is said that Prasad was in a depressed state of mind since the last some months, and was being treated for this problem. In a death note left behind, he is found to have written that he was leaving everything behind. A case about the incident stands registered in Pandeshwar police station here, and investigation is being undertaken.

very tragic and sad.Heartfelt sympathy to his family. Here I find still a doubt about his way of suecide. Was it really his own wish and hand writing? When one is in depression and find time to writedown before suecide?Or someone helped?Best for such depressed people ,instead of giving them only tablets and treat, better take them out of their envirement and bring them in other circumstances.so their mind is diverted.May be his workfield had some mental stress ?Sad he studied so long, whether he studied because of on someones wish?or his own? May his soul rest in peace.
